Introduction

I'm thrilled to announce my recent decision to join WatDig, a leading team gearing up for the 2025 Not-a-Boring Competition (NaBC).
With a passion for engineering and innovation, I am eager to contribute to our mission of developing a fully functional tunnel boring machine (TBM) for the competition.

My Role

In my new role at WatDig, I'll be diving headfirst into three key areas: research, controls, and mechanical design.
These facets are crucial for the success of our TBM project and will play a pivotal role in our journey towards victory in the NaBC 2025.

Research

As part of the research team, I'll be at the forefront of uncovering the latest advancements in tunnel boring technology.
From exploring novel materials for cutterheads to studying advanced excavation techniques.

Controls

My role involves developing and fine-tuning control algorithms that govern the movement and operation of our TBM.
By harnessing the power of automation, we aim to optimize excavation processes and streamline operations in the challenging underground environment.

Mechanical Design

From designing robust cutterhead assemblies to optimizing thrust and torque mechanisms, my focus will be on creating a machine that's not only powerful but also reliable and sustainable.

The NaBC 2025 Competition: A Gateway to Innovation

The Not-a-Boring Competition is the ultimate proving ground for tunneling technology enthusiasts. With teams from around the world vying for the top spot, the competition is fierce, and the stakes are high. But at WatDig, we thrive on challenges, and we're determined to come out on top.

Conclusion

Joining WatDig for the NaBC 2025 Competition is more than just a new opportunity—it's a chance to be part of something truly groundbreaking. I'm excited to contribute to our team's quest for TBM supremacy. Together, we'll push the boundaries of tunneling technology and pave the way for a brighter, more efficient future.

Let's make history, one bore at a time! 🚀
